BIOGRAPHY
Conor Malloy is a drummer, composer, percussionist and educator currently residing in Los Angeles.
Conor graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor’s of Music in Jazz Studies in 2017 with honors, and a Master’s of Music in Jazz Studies in 2019. While at USC, he worked as a teaching assistant to Professor Peter Erskine, developing curriculum and lesson plans for Thornton’s drumming proficiency course, as well as directly teaching dozens of students each semester. While at USC, Conor studied with Peter Erskine, Ndugu Chancelor, Bob Sheppard, Bob Mintzer and Vince Mendoza. Additionally, Conor has taught individually and in groups at the Litchfield Jazz Camp, Jazz House Kids Summer Camp, as well as privately throughout the Los Angeles area.
Prolific across genres, he has worked with jazz artists like Alan Pasqua and Bob Sheppard, performing at venues like The Blue Whale and Sam First. In the pop world, Conor has worked with Island Records artist Remi Wolf since 2017. In addition to playing drums with Remi, Conor also serves as music director, developing shows for several headline tours, as well as performances on TV shows like The Late Show, The Tonight Show With Remi, Later with Jools Holland, NPR’s Tiny Desk, and Triple J Radio in Australia.
In addition to this active performance schedule, Conor teaches privately and produces music from his home studio.
